Everything you need to know about Heare.me
Heare.me uses Last.fm to know what you're listening to. Last.fm works with Spotify, Apple Music, and many other players. If you don't have a Last.fm account, create one at last.fm/join and connect it to your music player.
Once logged in, just listen to music as you normally would. Heare.me automatically detects what you're playing and shows it on your dashboard.
If someone else in the world is listening to the same track right now, you'll see their nickname appear. The more popular the track, the more likely you are to find a match.
When you have a match, you can open the chat and talk with other listeners. Each track has its own chat room shared by everyone listening to it.
Your real identity is never revealed. When you sign up, you're assigned a random nickname (like "CosmicBear42"). Other users only see this nickname. Your Last.fm username is encrypted and never shown to anyone.
Chat rooms are tied to tracks. When you and others are listening to the same song, you share a chat room. Messages in active (non-pinned) rooms are automatically deleted after 24 hours.
If you want to keep a chat room accessible even after you stop listening, you can pin it by spending 1 action point. Pinned rooms are permanent — you can always come back to them, and their messages are preserved.
You earn experience points (XP) by using Heare.me:
There are 42 levels, from Lv.1 Newcomer all the way to Lv.42 Over 9000. Each level has a unique title. Your level and XP progress are displayed at the top of the dashboard.

X-Ray is a discovery tool available from the bottom of the dashboard. For 5 AP, it scans pinned tracks across all users and reveals one you haven't discovered yet — a track someone else found worth pinning. Use it to explore music beyond your usual matches.
Badges are earned automatically as you use the platform — by listening, chatting, building streaks, leveling up, and more. Earned badges appear in the badge panel (click the star icon next to your AP). Unearned badges stay hidden to keep some mystery.
Use Heare.me on consecutive days to build a streak. Your current streak and longest streak are tracked. Several badges reward long streaks (3, 7, 30, and 100 days).
